How to Find a Solid Niche

Tips on Finding a Niche Market

Howdy! I have a couple big fat secrets that I want to throw out there today!

Finding a niche is an extremely in depth topic but lets stay light and high level today and take a look at some places that you can find some big fat money makers.

One thing that I have noticed is that just about every niche topic that already has a book or a magazine dedicated to it, is probably a market worth taking a look at. The reason being that it costs a lot of money to produce a magazine or a book and you better believe that a ton of market research is done before they are created.

Now don’t get me you want to narrow your topic down and make sure that it is a niche and not at the market level, but here are some great places that I have found good niche ideas.

1. Amazon – If you go into the “subscription” section where they have all of the magazine subscriptions you can get some great ideas on profitable topics.

Travis Sago and the other “gurus” always say that the best niches are in health, wealth, happiness and people that are in some sort of life transition.

2. Barnes and noble – Take a trip to their store and pic up some magazines that interest you. Take notice of the articles and check out the ads too. I have found that some of the ads in magazines that are really specific to a topic will give you some awesome Ideas of things to sell online.

3. Dummies books – Check out the online dummies  store, and find some topics that interest you. If there is a dummies book written about it, you can bet your bottom dollar that there is a market for it.

Take all of the ideas that you get from these locations and do your market research to see what ones are the best choices.

How to Find a Good Product to Sell

How do I find a good product to sell?

This is a very basic question but one that is the main building block of the affiliate marketing world.

Lets start with the market. The market that you choose your product in is a very important piece to the puzzle. You want to choose a market that people are insanely passionate about. Lets take the drumming and musical instruments for example. I am a drummer and I am insanely passionate about it beyond all reason. There were times in my life when buying that new symbol or drum came before just about anything.  Guitar and Drums are an example of  markets where people are insanely fanatical about getting the latest and greatest.

When you are looking for a market you want to “enhance the cool” and not “feed the fear”.  You want to find a market that you can add to the fun.

Find markets where people are:

1. Insanely passionate

2. Great in number

3. Proven buyers

When it comes to finding a good market don’t guess, use the proven data that I will show you.  Start testing small and verify the market.

Testing a Market:

Open up a Clickbank account for digital products and use it to verify that the market is buying. You can do this by looking at some of the stats that are available on each product.  Make sure that there are 20+ products in the market and that they have a high Ref%, and a high gravity.  Generally the more specialized a product is the better it will sell.

Choose some products to promote as an affiliate and promote them on a small scale to verify that the market is indeed responsive.  What I like to do is set up a quick PPC campaign in Yahoo to see if that product is profitable. Once you determine that it is a profitable product you can create your own product that is better, with better marketing!

Learning How To Get Started In Internet Marketing

Learning how to get started in internet marketing is a lot like constructing a structure. When I first started out on the path to learn internet marketing I was totally unsure if it was something that really existed or if it was just a network of scams that promised riches with little or no monetary fulfillment.

The three main pieces to the puzzle are:

1. Your Blueprint
2. Your Construction Materials
3. Your labor.

You can’t build a skyscraper without one of these key components. Now granted there are a lot of other components involved that are crucial to a building’s structure, as there are other important factors that are crucial to an Internet Marketing business. If we stay high level for a moment, the above main 3 components can get you up and running and making a profit while the other factors fall into place.

1.Blueprint.
The Blueprint is the most important item to have when learning how to get started in internet marketing, hands down, end of story. I recently took series of business process improvement classes and one of the things they said was this ” You can put a good worker in a bad process and the bad process will win every time” It is so true. No matter how hard you work, if your process is poor so will be your results. Having a poor process in the Internet Marketing biz can be completely avoided, but is all to common. When you are starting out, “you don’t know what you don’t know” Therefore, you don’t know how to create a good process.

So.. how do you learn to follow a good process?
This is the section where I am going to tell you something that you dont want to hear. The statistics don’t lie, people that buy a program to learn internet marketing have much greater success rate than those that don’t. That is a loaded statistic however, because you have to find a good program, meant for beginners, and you have to complete it. If you can do that, you will make money.

2. Materials
When you are learning how to get started in internet marketing there are a lot of materials that you will come in contact with and use. If you get involved with a good Blueprint they will take you hand in hand and show you everything that you need to know. Don’t pay for your materials right away. Why Affiliate Marketers Fail

Affiliate marketing is a business that a lot of people try and fail. Here is why. When someone is first taking a step into the affiliate marketing world they are bombarded by programs and advertisements that claim to make you 50K next week by turning on your computer twice.
